The owner of the Kingsdown
Wine Vaults wanted a particularly striking image to hang
outside of her business and gave me a completely free
hand as to its design.
Researching the building and its
surroundings, something that I love to do before starting
work on the image, I found documentation in the central
library in Bristol, to suggest that the buildings were
once used to house prisoners before they were taken
to court. A place steeped in history with stories of
Cromwell, battles, forts and ‘turtle
soup?’ © Graeme Robbins |
